Terms of use

The short version: passive scans of public domains are fine, do not use the service to attack or overload anyone, results are information and not a guarantee. Last updated 2026-10-13.

Who runs webzod

webzod is operated by webzod, Saulės g. 3, Kaunas, Lithuania.

The service

webzod checks a domain’s security, email, DNS and quality settings and reports the findings with suggested fixes. You can scan without an account; an account adds a list of your domains, ownership verification, scheduled scans and email alerts.

Passive scanning only

Anyone may run a passive scan of a public domain with webzod, whether or not they own it; that is what the product does. A passive scan only does what any visitor or the public internet already does: DNS queries, TLS handshakes, requests a browser would make and lookups in public data sources. It does not scan ports, request unlinked paths, send attack payloads or try to log in. The scanner page lists exactly what it requests and how to block it in robots.txt.

Acceptable use

Do not use webzod or its results to attack, harass or overload a site or its owner, or to look for a way in. Do not run automated bulk scanning outside the limits the service sets (per person and per domain), and do not work around those limits, the human check or the rate limits. Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or resell its results as if they were your own scan.

If a site owner asks us to stop scanning their domain, we will.

Accounts and verified domains

You are responsible for your account and for what happens through it. Owning a domain, shown by publishing a DNS TXT record that webzod gives you, is required only to save a domain for scheduled scans and email alerts; verify only domains you control. We re-check the record every week, and if it stays missing for more than a week the domain loses its verified status and its scheduled scans stop. You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard; an active Pro subscription has to be cancelled first.

Pro subscriptions and payments

webzod is free to use while it launches. When Pro becomes available it is a paid subscription, billed in advance for a month or a year and renewing automatically for the same period until you cancel. The price and what Pro includes are shown on the pricing page before you pay.

Payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle sells the subscription to you, charges you, handles VAT and sends the invoice, and its buyer terms apply to the purchase, including its rules on refunds and on your right to cancel. We never see your card details.

You can cancel at any time from Manage billing on the dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. Your data is kept, but schedules beyond the free plan’s limits are switched off, and we email you when that happens; scheduled scans older than the free plan keeps are removed 30 days after Pro ends.

If a payment fails, Paddle may retry it and we may end Pro until it succeeds. We may change the price or the contents of Pro; a change to the price applies to your subscription only from its next renewal after we have told you by email, at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel before then.

Results are informational

Findings, grades and scores describe what the scanner could observe at one moment. A scan can miss problems, and some checks cannot run, in which case the report says it could not check them. A good grade is not a guarantee that a site is secure. Fix suggestions are general: test them, back up, and make changes in a staging environment where you can. Text written by AI is labelled as such and may contain mistakes.

No warranty

webzod is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data arising from your use of the service or from acting on its results. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or 100 euros if you paid nothing.

Suspension and termination

We can limit or end access, and delete an account, if the terms are broken, if the service is used to abuse a third party, or to protect the service. You can stop using webzod at any time.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the service means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the law of: the Republic of Lithuania, with disputes heard by the competent courts of Lithuania.
