Redirect www and apex to one host on Vercel
Why it matters
Both names serve the site, so search engines see duplicate pages and logins, cookies and HSTS are split between two hosts. Pick one canonical host and permanently redirect the other to it.
The fix
- Open the project, Settings, Domains. Add both names and set the non-canonical one to redirect to the canonical one.
- Or add the redirect below to vercel.json and redeploy.
vercel.json
{ "redirects": [ { "source": "/:path*", "has": [{ "type": "host", "value": "www.example.com" }], "destination": "https://example.com/:path*", "permanent": true } ] }
The examples use example.com. Replace it with your own domain.
