Set a valid Referrer-Policy on Shopify

Why it matters

The Referrer-Policy value is not one browsers recognise, so they ignore it and use their own default. Use a standard value such as strict-origin-when-cross-origin.

The fix

  1. If the invalid value comes from a meta name=referrer tag, open Online Store, Themes, Edit code, find the tag in layout/theme.liquid (or a snippet it renders) and change its content to strict-origin-when-cross-origin.
  2. If it comes from the response header, Shopify sets it and the store cannot change it.
