Load images and media over HTTPS on Shopify

Why it matters

http:// images, audio and video on an https page can be swapped or watched on the network, and browsers either upgrade them or mark the page as not fully secure. Switching them to https:// URLs removes the risk and the warning.

The fix

  1. Search the theme code (Online Store, Themes, Edit code) and the HTML view of pages, blog posts and product descriptions for http:// image URLs.
  2. Change them to https://, or upload the images to Shopify (Content, Files) and use the URLs it gives you.
