Serve security.txt from /.well-known/ on Netlify
Why it matters
RFC 9116 puts the file at /.well-known/security.txt and keeps /security.txt only for older setups. Researchers and tools look in the standard place first.
The fix
- Add a rewrite rule to _redirects (in the published folder) that serves the existing file at the standard address, or move the file to .well-known/security.txt.
- Deploy and open https://example.com/.well-known/security.txt.
_redirects
/.well-known/security.txt /security.txt 200 The examples use example.com. Replace it with your own domain.
